The Institute Has Joined the SPACEPORT-AI Consortium

The Institute has joined a research collaboration focused on the development of artificial intelligence-based data processing techniques. A letter of intent formalizing this cooperation was signed on November 24, 2025, by eight universities and research institutions.

The goal of the SPACEPORT-AI initiative is to bring together experts interested in jointly developing and testing modern methods for effective data processing using the latest technological advances in the field of artificial intelligence.

Three new Horizon Europe projects

Our Institute has been awarded three new EU Projects, including two funded under the Horizon Europe programme for three years: PACK and Q-FENCE,  and a third: Doctoral Networks project SAILING, awarded for four years under the EU Marie Curie-Sklodowska research excellence programme. These projects are carried out in cooperation with numerous partners from across Europe and address key scientific, technological and societal challenges.

Quantum Planning for Railways: Polish–American Cooperation for the Future of Transportation!

A team from the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics, Polish Academy of Sciences (IITiS PAN), in collaboration with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), is investigating how quantum technologies can support rail transport planning and scheduling in real-world conditions.

This research is being carried out as part of the project: "Advanced Optimization for Reliable and Efficient Public Transport," part of the "Science for Society II" Program.
